Teaching And Education

The Rehabilitation Department is affiliated with the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Rehabilitation of the Faculty of Medicine. Through our department's framework, we teach 5th year medical students the principles of neurological rehabilitation.

Our training includes frontal lectures on neurorehabilitation, observation of neurological patients in our facilities, shadowing patients during treatment as well astraining through the Occupational Therapy department and the unit for communication disorders. In addition, a comprehensive lecture is given on the assessment and treatment of patients with Alzheimer's disease and dementia by Dr. Meiner through the Neurogeriatric and Memory Clinic.

We also train our students in orthopedic rehabilitation through experience in orthopedics during their fifth year. Training includes alecture on orthopedic rehabilitation, observtion of orthopedic patients in our department, a training course given by the physical therapy department, a workshop on back pain, and an EMG workshop. In addition, department physicians give advanced training sessions at Tel Aviv University to residents specializing in neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation. Department physicians give multiple lectures on neurological rehabilitation as well as dementia and Alzheimer's disease in to family physicians, general practitioners, nurses, and paramedical professionals in Hadassah and the community
