The Pediatric Orthopedic Unit in Hadassah Hospital, a university-associated Medical Centre in Jerusalem, is among the leading centers for treating pediatric movement disorders in Israel. The unit comprises senior specialists who have had additional training in some of the leading hospitals in the world in the field of pediatric orthopedics. This allows the provision of a medical service at the highest level for the whole spectrum of complex congenital and acquired orthopedic problems in infants, children and adolescents from all areas of Israel and the world.
Diagnosis and operative planning are performed using the most advanced technology. The doctors and nurses in the unit, clinics and the wards pride themselves on offering a warm and personal approach to the patients and their families.
The unit’s activity includes:

Surgical procedures – elective and emergency procedures, such as fractures and infectious diseases of the skeletal system. Most of the patients for emergency procedures are admitted through the Emergency Department.

Outpatient clinics – follow-up and continued ambulatory care after admission, assessment of patients referred from the community or the ED. These include multi-disciplinary clinics with the ALYN Rehabilitation Hospital with a high concentration of patients with neuromuscular conditions. Close cooperation with ALYN allows us to offer the highest standard of post-operative rehabilitation with the best possible results and quickest return to normal function.

Academic activity – the medical team in the unit coordinate several research projects and publish their results in local and international medical journals, and present them in medical conferences in Israel and around the world. An important part of our activity is being involved in educating medical students, residents, pediatricians and various other medical professionals in the hospital and the community.
