Synopsis
My activity within Oral Medicine focuses on disease processes of the oral mucosa; mainly oral cancer and precancer related conditions. The aims of my research are to understand oral carcinogenesis at the molecular and clinical levels and to explore the epidemiology of the disease in order to develop better tools for prevention of oral cancer, detection of early lesions and advance novel treatment and prophylactic options.
The studies are in an active collaboration with researchers from the US and with leading scientists in the Hebrew University. Students for DMD, MSc, PhD as well as Oral Medicine residents doing their basic science project are part of my research teams.Future research plans
Future research includes continuing basic ,translational and clinical research of oral carcinogenesis .These studies will improve our ability to understand and treat patient with oral mucosal diseases in general and in particular with premalignant conditions.
