Originally concerned with the treatment of children's teeth, Pediatric Dentistry has branched out to cover behavior control during treatment, including new medications and follow up of children with particular problems, the interrelations between systemic diseases and oral disorders and prevention and treatment of oral diseases.

The first year covers basic diagnostic techniques, emergency treatment, the treatment of kindergarten and elementary school children, under supervision, at the outpatient clinic of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, and ward rounds in the Department of General Anesthesiology. The second year includes treatment under sedation and general anesthetics of handicapped children and rotations in the Departments of Orthodontics and Pediatrics. In the third year, Residents continue with Pediatric Dentistry, give undergraduate student guidance and carry out research projects in the Basic Sciences.
