Dr. Braun Jacques is Acting Head of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit consists of four beds. The Unit provides care for children of all ages with life-threatening illnesses. The Unit is under the direct supervision of Dr. David Shoseyov who is a specialist in pediatric pulmonary diseases.
Patient care is provided by a specialized multi-disciplinary staff that includes nurses, dietitians, social workers, and child-life specialists.
The unit was set up 20 years ago within the pediatrics department. Patients of the department's unique areas of expertise (neurological problems, Familial Dysautonomia and chronic lung diseases) who require mechanical ventilation on an acute or semi-chronic basis make up most of the admissions. The unit also serves as a step-down unit of the Ein Kerem unit.
