The Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) at the Hadassah University Hospital - Ein Kerem was one of the first of its kind established in Israel. Its medical staff consists of professional and highly-skilled cardiologists and dedicated nurses, all of whom specialize in treatment of urgent heart problems.
The nine-bed ICCU is equipped with the most advanced monitoring devices available today. About 1,200 patients suffering from various acute and complex heart conditions, such as heart attacks or acute coronary syndrome, are admitted annually. One major concern for these patients is prevention of further heart muscle damage and prompt treatment of life-threatening arrhythmias. Therefore, patients in the ICCU are continuously monitored by ECG.
