In both Hadassah hospital campuses, 11,500 babies are born every year. In each hospital there are departments destined for surveilling and treating about 60 newborns who were born on time or almost on time, without any special medical problems. In both hospitals, between 700 and 1,000 premature babies are born every year (a premature being a baby born before the 37th week of the pregnancy). Both hospitals have neonatal intensive care units for treating prematures and newborns with respiratory, cardiac, surgery and genetic problems.
