Academic Activities: Research and Teaching
The staff of the Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism includes seven full-time senior physicians, two endocrinology fellows, four PhD researchers, graduate students and post-doctoral students. Senior physicians have an academic appointment at the Hebrew University School of Medicine. The department conducts basic research, clinical investigator-initiated translational research, and clinical studies within the framework of international clinical studies. The research is funded by competitive grants from sources including the Israel Science Foundation (ISF), the United States-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF), the German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development (GIF), BIRAX, NIH, the Israel Cancer Association and philanthropy. The results of the research are presented at key national and international professional conferences and are published in leading biomedical journals.
