Povidone Iodine

Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic. It is used to clean cuts and skin infections caused by bacteria and fungi. The cream is used to treat cuts and small burns.

Do not use when

  • Your child has a known allergy to one of the ingredients
  • Your child has suffered in the past or suffers from thyroid problems. Please consult your doctor.
  • For a prolonged period of time or extremely frequently

Consult your doctor when

  • Your child is taking other medication
  • Your child has known allergies to food and/or drugs

Storing the Medication
Keep the medication in a cool, dark place and out of reach of children. Do not use past the expiration date.

Administering the Medication
Rub the cream onto the affected area 2-4 times a day (depending on the situation) and gently massage into the skin. The cut can be wrapped in gauze after administration. Please consult your doctor if there is no improvement after 4-6 days of treatment. For external use only!

What should I do if I forget to put on the cream on time?
Put it on as soon as you remember.

When can I end treatment?
Consult your doctor if there is no improvement after a few days of treatment.

Side Effects
Side effects include rashes.

Call your doctor when

  • Your child's condition worsens
  • Your child's cut is deep and not responding to treatment
  • Your child develops a rash or prolonged swelling in the area
  • Your child experiences an allergic reaction

Do not use to cover large areas of skin
