Children with heart disease or cardiovascular defects often need to be treated with medication, to stabilize their condition as much as possible. These medications treat disorders in the heart and the circulatory system.
One group of drugs is beta blockers. Beta blockers target the beta receptor which can be found in the cells of the heart. These are used to treat cardiac arrythmia, prevent a second heart attack and treat hyperension. Another groups icludes coagulants, which are blood thinners, to prevent clots.
