Dr. Ori Wald M.D, Ph.D is a Cardiothoracic Surgery at Hadassah Medical Center (HMC), and a principal investigator with an academic rank of senior lecturer at the Gene Therapy Institute at HMC. Dr. Wald is a graduate of the M.D, Ph.D program at the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem Israel.
He completed his residency in cardiothoracic surgery at HMC and has subspecialized in thoracic surgical oncology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston Tx, USA.
Dr. Wald’s research group is dedicated to developing novel immune therapeutic approaches for thoracic malignancies. The research focuses on orthotopic and syngeneic models of lung cancer and malignant mesothelioma.
Dr. Wald is collaborating with scientist from the Hebrew University Faculty of Pharmacy and from the Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers, Paris, France as well as with biopharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Wald has authored or co-authored 50 publications and he has been awarded multiple research grants including ones from the Israeli Science Foundation and Israel Cancer Association.
