Fourth and final year medical students are taught in frontal lectures and in small clinical groups of 5-6 students . This is an effective means of providing training and apprenticeship. The department has a modern computerized teaching room - the students have access to audio-visual aids and can progress at their own pace.

Visiting students attend for short elective periods from foreign medical schools and are given individual teaching by the senior staff. The students feel welcome and participate in the daily life of the department.

Residents undertake their clinical fellowship training after completing a compulsory period of training in Internal Medicine and passing their Israeli Board examinations. Teaching is by practical, supervised experience as well as direct theoretical training. The goal of the Residency program is to graduate a cardiologist who has superb interpersonal and technical skills- in the fields of electrocardiography and echocardiography- and can perform the practical skills of cardiac catheterization, interventional procedures, electrophysiological studies and pacemaker implantation.
