INTRODUCTION
Nursing research has traditionally been concerned with bio-psycho-social responses to health and illness as well as with investigations on the administration of nursing services or the education of nurses. Faculty members at the School of Nursing have followed this tradition.
In the more recent years, there has been an increased emphasis on Evidence-Based Nursing Practice. Towards this aim, faculty members have continued to conduct clinical research projects. Some of the varied areas currently under investigation are the efficacy of critical care nursing practices, family nursing in the community, sexual health counseling pain, pediatric and women's health nursing.
Other research areas are related to the holistic, multidisciplinary nature of nursing practice. These areas include patient decision-making, cultural diversity, spirituality, ethics and psycho-neuro-immunology.
