Hot Beverages – during winter people tend to drink more hot beverages, consequently they should be aware of several factors:
Sweetening. To reduce sugar consumption, people should drink fewer hot beverages and use artificial sweeteners, preferably sweeteners that contain sucralose.
Milk. Milk contains a lot of calories. A cup of chocolate milk, latte or cappuccino is equal to one yogurt and should be counted on your daily calories consumption.
Vegetables – Eating a lot of vegetables in every variation – fresh, cooked or boiled – is recommended.
Hot Dishes – during winter people tend to eat more hot food.
A milk-based porridge can be a good breakfast or dinner.
Pies (quiches) are a great solution for vegetables and cheese combinations. Eat fewer pies with a tart base, cream or fatty cheeses.
Vegetable soup is a highly recommended entrée. It is filling and has a low calorie count. Soups based on legumes (peas, beans, potatoes, corn) and cereals (rise, pasta, corn) have the same calorie value as a carbohydrate dish and should be counted as part of the daily calorie consumption. Cream soups have a lot of calories and are not recommended. Cheese and croutons increase the amount of calories in the soup and are not recommended.
