Research

1. Doctor in Medicine degree: Basic science research project to elucidate if Allicin (an active component of garlic) can decrease the development of atherosclerotic plaque in a mouse model fed a cholesterol-rich diet.  Supervisor Prof. Vered, (#1).

2. Clinical trial in the Pediatric Cardiology Unit and the Neonatal ICU, at Kaplan Medical Center. (Residency Requirement).  The trial compared early versus late treatment with indomethacin for closure of a Patent Ductus Arteriosus.  Population: premature infants in the weight range of 500-1200 g.  Supervisors Dr A. Matitiahu and Prof Shinwel.

3. I was involved in a multicenter clinical trial at Shaare Zedek, Hadassah Ein Kerem and Hadassah Mount Scopus Medical Centers. To assess the diagnostic value of NT- pro BNP to differentiates sepsis from acute left ventricular dysfunction in critically ill children. (# 4.)

4. I am involved in a multicenter clinical trial, The AVIDE Multicenter Study, at  Hadassah University Hospital, Sharei Tzedek and Bikur Holim medical centers, which evaluate the fetal conduction system integrity by kinetocardiogram, in fetuses exposed to maternal Autoantibodies, identifies 1st degree AVB and evaluates the results of early treatment with dexamethasone. (#7)

5. I conducted a retrospective case series review of children with congenital diaphragmatic hernia and pulmonary hypertension in order to identify prognostic factors and survival rate with in one center experience (CCHMC). To be published.
