Education

 

1993- DMD degree, The Hebrew University Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem.

 

1996- PhD degree, Developmental and Morphological Science, The Hebrew University Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem.

 

1997- Specialist in pediatric Dentistry - Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem , Israel .

 

1997 – 2009 Director General DVI, an accredit clinic for residence in the program of Specialty in Pediatric Dentistry, Jerusalem, Israel

Research Interests:

 

Two particular areas of pediatric dentistry are of special interest to me:

 

§         Dental Materials

§         The involvement of pediatric dentists in community based oral health clinics, and hospitalized medically compromised patients.

 

Abstracts of Current Research

 

An in vitro study using a topical paste (Tooth Mousse) to induce remineralization of initial enamel caries and to prevent demineralization in primary dentition.

 

Study on Calculus accumulation and the prevalence of caries in children fed via gastrostom compared to that of children fed orally - Chemical and microbiological analysis of saliva.

 

Chemical composition of black extrinsic tooth stains on children and young adults teeth.

 

Identifying ingredients in the paste used for root canal filling material in primary teeth that could potentially cause cell proliferation in the succedenous permanent tooth bud.

2000: Member of the Scientific and Organizing Committee, DVI Third International Dental congress, Prevention and Treatment Concepts in Dental Medicine Towards the 3rd Millennium, Jerusalem.

 

1997- 2009:  Director General, DVI, an accredited training facility for Pediatric Dental Specialty interims, Jerusalem, Israel.

 

2004- Present: Nominated, member of the Committee for computer services in the Dental School, Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem, Israel.

 

2005- 2009: Elected member of the board, Israeli Society of Dentistry for children.

 

2006- Present: Nominated member of the National Examining Committee for Specializing in Pediatric Dentistry. The Scientific Council- Israeli Dental Association.

 

2006-Present: Nominated member of the professional Committee for Public Health Dentistry. The Scientific Council- Israeli Dental Association and the Health Ministry.

 

2006-2009: In charge of quality control in "The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews- IFCJ" community dental clinics.

 

2007- Present: Reviewing manuscripts for the International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry.

 

2007- Present: Reviewing manuscripts for the Archives of Oral Biology.

 

2007: Nominated member of the professional Committee for renewal of accreditation of the residency program in the department of Public Health Dentistry, Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem, Israel. The Scientific Council- Israeli Dental Association.

 

2007-2009: In charge of quality control in the PEF community dental clinics.

 

2007-2010: Elected, member of audit committee, Committee of the Israeli Regency, Alpha Omega international dental Fraternity, Israeli Branch.

2006: DVI Receives City of Jerusalem Award for Volunteerism.

2006: DVI Receives Ministry of Health Award for Volunteerism.

2008: City of Jerusalem honorary award for the involvement in promoting youths at risk health in Jerusalem.
