Professor Dror Mevorach is head of Internal Medicine B and the Rheumatology Research Centre.
He is currently the Chairman of the Clinical Teaching Committee and served as the head of Medicine Curriculum in 2006-9.
He completed his MD studies in the Technion, Haifa, with Honors, and his residency at Hadassah. He went then for a fellowship in the Department of Rheumatology, the Hospital for Special Surgery, and Cornell University, New York and upon his return established the Lab for Cellular and Molecular Immunology. Later he became the Head of the Rheumatology Research Centre and Medicine B.
Professor Mevorach main area of Research is autoimmunity and the immune system. He investigates the fate of dying cells in the immune system and its consequences on various diseases. Professor Mevorach have received many Research Grants and won several prizes of excellence. He is an expert of rheumatological diseases such as lupus, antiphospholipid syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, vasculitis, and more and has special interest in diseases during pregnancy.
