Education

 

1963: B. Jerusalem, elementary and secondary education in Jerusalem, secondary school study stream in biological sciences. Senior project: "The connection between intra-ocular pressure and myopia."

 

1981: Active in Youth Zionist Council in Israel: President of the Congress and Chair of the Youth Zionist Council.

 

1985-90: Medical studies, Hebrew University and Hadassah School of Medicine, Jerusalem. Thesis on the subject: "The connection between HLA B27 to rheumatic diseases."

 

Elected vice-chair of the Hebrew University Student Council

 

1989-90: Fifth and sixth years of medical school, served as student representative

of the Pedagogic Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, and member of the Committee to Redesign the Sixth Year of Medical Studies.

 

M.D.thesis: "The connection between cytokines and sex hormones in the follicles of IVF patients," under Prof. Neri Laufer. Received faculty prize for outstanding thesis.

 

1990-91: Completion of medical studies, class valedictorian.

 

Professional Experience

 

1982-84: Military service as army medic in charge of area clinic.

 

1991-92: Internship at Hadassah Hospital; Chair of National Internship Committee.

 

1992-98: Residency in obstetric and gynecology, Department of Obstetrics and

Gynecology, Hadassah University Hospital – Mt. Scopus, Jerusalem.

 

1996: Passed first level examinations in obstetrics and gynecology.

 

1998: Passed second level examinations in obstetrics and gynecology.

 

1996-98: Served as Chief Resident in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,

Hadassah – Mt. Scopus.

 

1998-: Completion of residency, senior physician in the Hadassah – Mt. Scopus IVF Unit. Since 1998, serve as Deputy Director or the IVF unit.

 

1998-: Specialist in fertility and reproductive medicine in two local Sick Funds.

 

1999-: Head of medical student instruction in IVF and Obstetrics and Gynecology outpatient clinics of Hadassah – Mt. Scopus.

 

2000: Established Fertility Unit in the city of Modi’in, with the Clalit Health Fund, serve as Director since its opening.

 

Grants and Awards

 

1. Received prize for outstanding research from the Israel Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology, Jerusalem and Southern District, 2000.

 

2. Research grant from the Joint research fund of the Hebrew University, 2002: Improving the ovarian response to gonadotropins in low responders by aromatase inhibition, a prospective randomized controlled trial.

 

3.  Research grant from the Joint research fund of the Hebrew University, 2002: Molecular mechanisms of branching morphogenesis in the human placenta villous tree: The role of sprouty proteins and interaction between villous macrophages and trophoblasts”.
