Dr. Neta Goldschmidt

Dr. Goldschmidt was born in 1969 in USA and imigrated to Israel in 1971.

 

After completing a Bachlor’s degree in the Hebrew University, she went on to study Medicine at the Hadassah Medical School.

 

She graduated in 1996 and completed a residency in Internal medicine in January 2001 and Hematology in November 2002.

 

Throughout her career Dr. Goldschmidt excelled and was awarded prizes for outstanding resident and teacher. 

 

Dr. Goldschmidt participated in active research since she was a medical student. The MD thesis was done in the laboratory of Prof. Tova Chajek and investigated the metabolic effects of the cytokine IL6. As part of the internal medicine residency, she worked with Prof. Dina Ben Yehuda on DNA repair genes and with Prof. Gideon Friedman and Prof. Arie Ben Yehuda on mutations in the MTHFR gene.

 

During the years 2002-2004 she spent two years of post-doctoral fellowship in the research laboratory of Dr. Staudt at the NIH, Bethesda, Maryland, USA and investigated the role of the microenvironment in aggressive lymphoma.

 

Dr. Goldschmidt is currently a senior doctor in the Hematology department in Hadassah and is actively investigating the microenvironment and the cytokine TGFb in diffuse large B cell lymphoma.

 

In cooperation with Shneider HHT center, she is doing the genetic diagnosis of families with HHT.
