Dr. Ada W. Goldfarb

Department of Hematology

Hadassah Hospital, Ein Kerem

Jerusalem, Israel.

Dr. Goldfarb was born in Israel.

She studied Medicine at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School, and then went on to her residency in Internal Medicine in the United States at the Beth Israel Division of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York city.

She returned to Israel, where she initially worked in Shaare Zedek Hospital. She did her subspecialty training in hematology at the Mount Scopus Division of Hadassah Hospital, later also working in a research capacity in the Ein Kerem Division in collaboration with the lipid research laboratory, Hadassah Medical Center.

In 1985, Dr. Goldfarb became the staff physician in charge of the Day Care Center, caring with great devotion for patients receiving chemotherapy as well as being the physician in charge of the thalassemia care service.

She still holds this position, which was interrupted by a year (1987-88) at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. During her year abroad, Dr. Goldfarb participated in clinical research projects on the use of IL-2 and interferon in solid tumors and the use of GM-CSF in AIDS.

She received tenure in Hadassah Hospital in 1991. During that year, Dr. Goldfarb was honored with the “OT HAMOFET LAROFE Award”, which is conferred by the Society for Medicine and Law in Israel, for outstanding service above and beyond the call of duty, in recognition of her extreme devotion to her patients.

She rose to the rank of Clinical Senior Lecturer in 1995.
