Dr. Moshe Gatt was born in 1967 in Jerusalem.
He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences in the Hebrew University, and finished his MD training in the Hadassah Medical School in 1997.
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine in Hadassah Mt. Scopus in 2003 and in Hematology at Hadassah Ein Kerem in 2007.
Dr. Gatt was awarded a Researching-Physician’s Young Investigator Scholarship and chose Hematology as his sub-specialty.
Throughout his career Dr. Gatt excelled and received awards and honors in the Hebrew University. He was elected class representative for the medical student exchange program in England, received Faculty award of Excellency for MD research, was nominee for the Society for Medicine and Law in Israel’s “Model Doctor” Award and was included in the Faculty’s list of outstanding clinical teachers.
As part of the special scholarship, he is doing research in the Lautenberg Center of Immunology in the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School under the supervision of Prof. Ben-Neriah and Prof. Fibach of the Hematology Department of Hadassah Hospital.
His research theme is Ent-signaling regulation of hematopoiesis in myelodysplastic syndromes.
Dr. Gatt had spent 2 years as a research fellow in the Jerome LIpper Multiple Myeloma Center, Medical Oncology, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School in Boston, and upon his return to Hadassah, in August 2009 established a research and diagnostic laboratory of Multiple Myeloma and as of January 2011 is leading the research, diagnosis and treatment in Amyloidosis.
