Brief Summary

 

Dr. Chernofsky graduated with honors from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 1982. He trained in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, and completed Fellowship training in Hand Surgery and Microsurgery at the University of Alabama.

 

He practiced Hand Surgery for over 15 years at Lehigh Valley Hospital, one of the largest and busiest hospitals in the United States. He developed the Division of  Hand Surgery and Microsurgery, and served as head of the Division for  many years. In 2004 he made Aliyah with his family, and has been practicing at Hadassah as a senior attending surgeon in the Division of Hand Surgery ever since.

 

Dr. Chernofsky is board certified in Hand Surgery and Plastic Surgery both in Israel and in the United States. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and has held academic appointments at several medical schools in the United States.

 

He has been married for 28 years, and has three grown children who live in Israel.

 

Dr. Chernofsky specializes in the treatment of  Hand problems including carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, tendonitis, ganglion cysts and other masses,  hand and finger injuries, tendon injuries,  arthritis of the hand,  nerve problems, Dupuytren’s disease, and congenital problems such as syndactyly, trigger thumb and extra digits.
