Hadassah Hospitals - General Information

Building a Better World Through Medicine

Hadassah Hospital was founded in Israel in 1939, and is still,  to this day, the leading medical institute when it comes to patient care in Israel.

The Hadassah Medical Organization includes two hospitals (Ein Kerem and Mt. Scopus), five schools of medical professions, outpatient clinics, and health centers. Hadassah offers the highest level of care in Israel, and Hadassah’s doctors are internationally known in many fields. Thanks to the professional skills of our medical staff, innovative treatment methods, and the most advanced medical equipment available, Hadassah offers its patients the finest medical care.

Sharap Service

The private medical service (sharap) available at Hadassah hospitals was founded some fifty years ago. In the beginning it was known as “limited geographic praxis.” Over the years it underwent many changes before developing into its present format.

The purpose of the sharap service is to enable interested patients to personally select the senior physician who will treat them. Medical treatment may be given on an outpatient basis at a clinic, or as part of the patient’s hospitalization.

In this way the patient enjoys readily available personal treatment, as well as other related services found at Hadassah, including laboratories, imaging equipment, and operating theaters that are among the most advanced found today.

Doctors working for the sharap service are members of Hadassah’s senior medical staff. They are specialists in their fields, and hold the academic position of “senior lecturer” or “professor” at the Hadassah Hebrew University School of Medicine in Jerusalem.

As part of the sharap service, patients can obtain medical treatment in all medical fields, “second opinion” consulting, and legal medical opinions for use in court or for the medical committees of the National Insurance Institute, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Health, etc.

Sharap offices operate in the Hadassah hospitals in Ein Kerem and Mt. Scopus, and at the sharap clinic, located at 10 Dubnov St. in Tel Aviv. The office schedules appointments and collects fees. The clerks at the office can also assist the patient and their family by directing them to the doctor they need.

On the day of your appointment, please arrive half an hour before the scheduled appointment time and proceed first to the sharap office in order to register and arrange payment. For a clinic visit, bring along all the medical documentation and test results related to your condition.

This booklet includes a detailed list of sharap doctors, by departmental affiliation at the hospital. There is also a short description of the medical activities each department provides.

We hope you will find this booklet helpful, and we wish you the best of health!
