Welcome to the Delivery Room!
Giving birth, even taking place in a hospital, is a natural process and we make every effort to ensure that it is a pleasant experience for you and your family.
Every expectant mother is given a little basket to put in her personal affairs. Thus, it is recommended not to bring with you more than necessary, including valuable things.
Admission
Every woman arriving to the department showing signs of birth, is examined by a midwife.
If the examination and the test results show beginning of the birth procedure, notification is given to the accompanying family and the woman is admitted.
The admission procedure lasts about one hour. Then the woman is transferred to the room where she will be staying till the end of the birth.
The woman is allowed to stay in this room with two accompanying persons.
If the birth procedure has not started yet the doctor will send the expectant mother back home.
The Newborns Department
The department is located next to the delivery room and the department of obstetrics. Both parents are permitted to enter the department freely. The other members of the family may see the baby through an assigned window between 11.30 and 12.00 or 16.15 and 17.00 hrs.
Hospitalization of the mother and her newborn.
There are two modes of hospitalization in the department of obstetrics.
Regular – when the mother stays in the department while her baby stays in the newborn department.
Room in – when the baby stays with his mother from the first breast feeding in the morning till 6 o’clock in the evening plus another breast feeding at 10 o’clock. During the night the baby stays in the newborn department.
Administrative Arrangement:
Every visit to the delivery room (except for the delivery itself) is payable and must pass through the admission office.
