The foot, although being a relatively small part of our body, does make a very important contribution to our good health.  It carries our intire body weight and plays a decisive role in maintaining our skeleton's health.

Surgical treatment of the foot is a domain called Podiatry.  Lately, a special Podiatry Clinic was created within the framework of the Hadassah University Hospital, at Mount Scopus.

The Foot Clinic offers, under the same roof, all examinations and treatments pertaining to the foot:

1.      Foot examination by the Gait analyzer and other advanced techniques.

2.      Solving problems such as pain in the feet, knees, ankles, back and neck, based on simple devices such as foot devices matched individually to the patient.  A simple orthopedic test can locate the problem and the orthopedic solution contributes to reduce tiredness, stress, headaches and other problems resulting from a problematic foot. 

3.      Treatments including diagnosis and treatment of sprains  and injuries, including sport injuries.

4.      Treatments by laser therapy, aiming to treat common and disturbing skin tumors or nail infections.

5.      The surgical treatment deals with the repair of torn or damaged ligaments and tendons, also using advanced techniques for the repair of hammer toes or Hallux Valgus.  These procedures are done under local anesthesia, and the patient is discharged on the same day.

6.      The clinic also deals with the so called diabetic foot, including wounds and ulcers, by innovative methods like skin grafts or artifical skin grafts as well as by laser.

7.      A major part of the work in the clinic is a current follow up of the patients. This follow up is essential especially to those patients who were offered orthopedic or medication prescriptions.
