Teaching
The department teaches 2 six week core courses in surgery to 5th year medical students and is involved in teaching 6th year elective students. It also participates in trauma courses and other courses for nursing students, the School of Pharmacy, general surgical residents and residents of other surgical specialities
The Department is a popular site for surgical electives for medical students from the USA and Europe.
