Clinical Fieldwork in Occupational Therapy

The clinical fieldwork in O.T. in the psychiatric ward is open to students from all universities that teach the profession: The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, The University of Tel Aviv and The University of Haifa, and to students from all years in which fieldwork takes place; that is, the second, third and fourth years.

Understandably, because of the special connection between Hadassah Hospital and the Hebrew University, preference is given to students from Jerusalem.

The Supervision provided throughout the clinical fieldwork is given in the belief that the fieldwork is a major factor in the professionalization process of the student, on the one hand, as an opportunity to integrate theoretical information with familiarization and practice in the application of therapeutic skills, and on the other hand, as a process of professional socialization.

The main method of acquiring an understanding of the field and knowledge of the art of therapy is by way of the clinical fieldwork.

The supervision, length of fieldwork and the content of supervision are decided upon through constant co-ordination and co-operation with the lecturers and supervisors in the Universities.
