The departmental research is composed of basic, applied and clinical research performed in both the Dental Materials Laboratory and clinics.

The focus is on advanced dental materials, and their interaction with bacterial flora and host tissues. Novel technologies including lasers and 3D imaging are explored and their relationship with dental material and host tissues.
