Joint Reconstruction of
Previous Injury,
including ligamentous injury of
hand, wrist or elbow
Malunion or non-union of fractures of the wrist should be treated in order to enable the limb to regain its strength, range of motion and function, and minimize the degeneration of the joint.
“Sprains” of the wrist may be disregarded as minor, but dysfunction of the joint may persist. Late diagnosis of a scaphoid fracture non-union or tear of stabilizing ligaments is not uncommon. Some of these injuries may be treated using arthroscopy.
