The Radiotherapy Unit is part of the Sharett Institute of Oncology. It carries out a diverse range of radiation treatments designated for different kinds of cancer. Constant development enables the unit to offer advanced and innovative treatments, such as conformal three-dimensional therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, IMRT, and high dose rate brachytherapy.
The advanced equipment includes three linear accelerators, two simulators, a treatment planning system, a high dose rate brachytherapy machine, and a radiosurgery system. A computerized system monitoring all treatments administered assures their quality.
The multidisciplinary treatment staff consists of physicians, radiation technicians, physicists, secretaries, nurses and equipment support personnel, all working together to provide the best care, for the best possible healing and reduction of side effects.
Additional services, such as those of a psychologist, social worker and dietician, are offered to patients.
