Medical Records
The Institute of Oncology has an independent archive that numbers over 20,000 active sheets and hundreds of microcassettes.
The data are digitized according to the International Classification of Diseases for Oncology (ICD-O), and reported to the Ministry of Health’s National Cancer Registry.
The archive is managed by Ms. Simcha Azarzar, who is a certified medical registrar by training.
Two additional clerks work in the archive, Nardit and Shani, who handle the daily affairs of the archive – handling outgoing and incoming files, contact with health funds, physicians and patients, medical documentation and lawsuits. The database in the archive also serves for statistical purposes.
