The General Intensive Care Unit
Critical Care Medicine: Over 50 critically ill or massively traumatized patients are admitted each month from the Emergency Room, Trauma Unit, hospital wards and other hospitals and receive critical care treatment.
The Pain Management Clinic
A multidisciplinary clinic offering the combined expertise of physicians and other medical personnel from a variety of departments such as orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, rehabilitation, and psychiatry. The clinic treats patients of all ages from throughout the country who suffer acute or chronic pain, post-operative or post-traumatic pain and any type of chronic pain whose source is malignant or benign.
A variety of non-invasive and invasive techniques are used to treat patients in the clinic, day facilities or in-hospital facilities such as x-ray, operating and recovery rooms. The pain service also has dedicated in-hospital beds for patients who require prolonged treatment.
The Acute Pain Service
Postoperative pain is controlled in all the surgical departments using epidural narcotic agents and intravenous patient controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps.
