The Educational Center for Medicinal Plants at Kibbutz Ein Gedi

As part of the Middle-Eastern Medicinal Plant Project, NMRU is currently creating an Educational Center at Kibbutz Ein Gedi.

The centre will contain detailed information on the medicinal plants under cultivation at the site, and will be open to the public ,educational groups and researchers.  Presentations include visual and text information, and describing the various uses of medicinal plants based on Biblical and folk references, as well as their historical uses in other traditional medical systems.

The aim of the Educational Field Center, is to increase awareness of medicinal plants and to conserve traditional knowledge concerning their use. (see CONSERVATION / PRESERVATION)

Resource centre

Responding to an increasing number of requests from staff at HMO, other academic institutions in Israel and abroad and the general public, NMRU established its Resource Unit to provide information on a range of natural therapies as well as reports and publications on its own program.

Currently NMRU receives many requests from the public questioning the safety and effectiveness of CAM therapies, as well as medical staff at Hadassah Hospital interested in using CAM therapies for the benefit of their patients.
