Industrial Design students from Bezalel Academy presented their artworks in the field of human engineering in medical surrounding at Hadassah.
In May 2010, Bezalel labs, Bezalel research and development academy, and Hadasit, a technology transfer company of Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem, have signed a first of its kind agreement for development and commercialization of products bases on students' ideas during the school year.
The cooperation was formed after 5 years of collaborated work, in a course that's being held in Bezalel's Department of Industrial Design, led by Dr. Shmuel Aroas. The course deals with human engineering and Ergonomics, in which the students meet with Prof. Yoel Donchin, senior anesthesiologist and chief of the Patient Safety unit in Hadassah, who represents them different issues that doctors come across with in the hospital, especially product design for the world of medicine, and a demand for solutions that will improve safety aspects. During this current year, another course is held by Prof. Didi Lynn, in which students from the Department of Ceramic and Glass Design try to solve problems in the sanitarian products field. During these years of activity the Bezalel students have developed several ideas for new products that have created a lot of interest, and the need to implement and distribute them to the medical market.
