19 students graduated last week the 36 annual international program for masters in public health at the Hadassah – Hebrew University Braun School of Public Health. Members of this year's class came from countries such as Ethiopia, Cameroon, China and Nigeria. They will join more than 700 graduates from 95 countries, who became leaders of public health in their countries.
One of the graduates this year came from South Sudan, which became an independent state only recently. Dr. Ahmad Ali (33) preferred Hadassah over studying in Atlanta. He was presented with a special award with the hope to build bridges for peace between the two countries through medicine. Dr. Ali specialized in AIDS, and upon returning home is planned to head a national program of increasing public awareness to the disease.
Marcie Natan, Hadassah National President and Joyce Rabin, HMO Chair, attended the ceremony together with Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef, Hadassah Director General.
