The Heart Institute at Hadassah-Ein Kerem has established a special unit that will offer psychological assistance to hospitalized and released patients. The unit was designed to help patients and their families deal with emotional stress, empower their ability to cope, increase their response to medical treatment, improve the state of their mental health and provide better communication between the patients and the medical staff.
In the near future, the unit will also offer support groups for defibrillator patients and those with increased anxiety following a cardiac event.
