"Once the media is in the picture as a result of information received by a supposed victim or a prosecutor, the interests of each side are revealed", said Ilana Dayan, Israel's leading investigating reporter, at the annual Hadassah conference for risk management, held at Hadassah Hospital on June 22. In her lecture, Dayan referred to the connection between the media and medicine with risk management. "It is difficult for the media to navigate among all the interests, and reveal the overall picture", she said.
Prof. Zvi Stern, Director, Hadassah University Hospital-Mt. Scopus, and initiator of the convention, emphasized the obligation to report unusual incidents on behalf of the medical staff. Dr. Mira Maram presented the medical staff's point of view, as a secondary victim.
