In a move to unify its services for people suffering from liver and digestive tract diseases, the Hadassah University Medical Center has established an integrated institute to be headed by Prof. Ran Oren as of March 1, 2011.

To enhance the Institute’s effectiveness and capabilities, Hadassah’s management set aside a special budget to recruit outstanding personnel, purchase advanced equipment, further research and support teaching in these specialized disciplines.

Prof. Oren is currently Director of the Division of Internal Medicine at the Tel-Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. Dr. Yael Kopelman, currently Deputy Director of the Department of Gastroenterology at the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, will serve as the Institute’s Director of the Invasive Endoscopy Unit.
