Renowned orthopedic trauma experts gathered in Tel Aviv recently to discuss new surgical treatments for their patients. Prof. Rami Mosheiff, Head of Hadassah’s Orthopedic Trauma Unit and newly-appointed Chairman of AO Trauma Europe, chaired the event that featured a presentation on Hadassah’s pioneering use of computer guided surgery for difficult and complex injuries. The conference, which attracted specialists from throughout Israel and 20 other countries, focused on examining innovative techniques for complicated orthopedic trauma conditions.
Prof. Mosheiff was a co-Chairperson of the congress, and his Hadassah colleagues Dr. Amal Khoury, Dr. Yoram Weil and Prof. Meir (Iri) Liebergall were the only Israeli presentors.
AO Trauma is a 5,000-strong international network of trauma surgeons dedicated to building a community of knowledge and advancing surgical orthopedic practices. For years, the Israeli branch, in collaboration with their colleagues around the world, has actively worked to promote education and research in this important specialty. Prof. Mosheiff was one of the founders of the Mid-Europe region of AO, and his recent appointment as Chairman of AO Trauma Europe is a recognition of his contribution to Orthopedic Trauma and to AO Trauma.
