Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower Concrete Skeleton Officially Completed Three Months Ahead of Schedule

27/12/2010

Members of the HMO staff, the contractors and many of the workers involved in the construction of the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower celebrated the official completion of the building’s 19-story concrete skeleton – three months ahead of the scheduled date.

One of the largest construction projects in Israel, the Davidson Hospital Tower rises from five floors below ground to 14 floors above. Built in accordance with the highest standards of Israel's Home Front Command, two complete floors on the third and fourth levels below ground, as well as the Surgical, Cardiac and Medical Intensive Care Units on other floors are built as a bomb shelter. The materials and time involved in ensuring the protection of these areas added significantly to the construction costs. Yet, the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower continues to move forward – on time and ahead of schedule.

The 500-bed Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower contains 20 operating rooms, 60 intensive care beds, the Heart and Internal Medicine Institutes and all surgical and medical treatment divisions. Designed to address today’s needs, tomorrow’s breakthroughs and progress in patient care for years to come, the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower integrates Hadassah’s deep dedication to healing with science’s most sophisticated developing medical technologies.

The Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower is scheduled to open in mid-2012.
